I love Kaz Brekker, probably more than I should. I think I relate to his character - someone made hard by the world around him, someone forced to realize that he and the people he loves are not immortal, someone who has to be smarter/meaner than everyone else because he won’t be a victim once again.

 

I like him with Inej, but my personal headcanon is that he thinks she’s too good for him - she’s naturally a good person, someone who doesn’t have to work to make choices that benefit people other than herself. Kaz, I think, is more self-serving, and he knows it. Of the group, Kaz is the most self-aware. He’s also the most dangerous.

Inej is a good person. Jesper is a flawed man, but a good man. Wylan’s probably the best of them all, because he can't (morally) do the things that the rest of them can do. Kaz is good only when it serves him personally or financially, and maybe it's the Barrel that's made him that way and maybe it isn't. Maybe he's good because Inej makes him want to be a better man, maybe he isn't.

Here are just a few specific prompts, but I'm pretty happy with anything involving these four. I am fine with including Nina or Matthias as a side-pairing or side characters!

• Modern AU with Assassins/Hitmen Kaz and Jesper, and Wylan the (relatively) innocent party. Maybe the mark that they end up not killing?
• Pirates. I just love pirates.
• Wylan runs to the Wild West as a way to escape his father and falls in with Jesper Fahey and the Brekker gang.

Stiles Stilinski may actually be my most favorite character of anything ever. I personally relate a lot to him, to the point that multiple people (as in more than three and I stopped counting) have made the comparison - for example, when it was on the air, and my ex-wife watched the first couple seasons, she said, "Okay, I'm gonna show you some clips because you are Stiles." So I'm pretty happy with any of these pairings involving Stiles.

I tend to put Stiles on the bottom in a lot of pairings, but I'm honestly very happy with him as top, bottom, or somewhere in between. I also have a thing about him being a drummer because of That One Music Video.

Some specific prompts if you like 'em, or do your own thing!

3.3 Merlin

Merthur is probably the closest thing I have to an OTP. It's one of my all-time favorite pairings, one of my favorite shows. I'm pretty much happy with anything involving them. There’s a lot with this pairing that I like, to be honest, but I usually prefer Merlin on the bottom if there’s anything smutty. I really love the banter between Merlin and Arthur, and maybe finally acting on the UST between them.

I wrote something awhile ago, my favorite Merthur fic I’ve written - Lending Softer Ears to My Lungs - that has kind of my main feelings about the dynamic and loyalty between Arthur and Merlin:

“What did you think would happen?” Arthur asks, heartbreakingly gentle.

Merlin chokes back a sob, because he’d never… he had never actually thought about life without Arthur, the idea that Arthur, so good and shining, could ever die, could grow old or fall in battle or give in to some sickness. They’d been through so much , and Merlin had never thought that a day would come that Merlin existed in a world where Arthur didn’t.

“Merlin,” Arthur says again, coaxing, like he wants Merlin to look at him.

Merlin can’t. God, but he can’t. “I always thought that I would die first,” he finally confesses. “That if something got to you, it would be in spite of… that I did everything I could, up until that very last moment.”

• Arthur Comes Back is always a classic
• Canon-timeline power imbalance smut with the whole King versus manservant
• Merlin whump with comfort - maybe Merlin’s magic is revealed as a result of him taking interrogation/torture/blows meant for Arthur
• BAMF Merlin, maybe with the whole Dragonlord thing, coming to the rescue at a cost to himself

3.4 Fallout

So I love Fallout 4. The world-building is incredible, and I really enjoyed the characters far more than Fallout 3 (and also the ending and the fact that you can, you know, keep playing instead of just ending the game suddenly - not that I’m bitter about Fallout 3 or anything). I have a four-hour playlist just for running around the Commonwealth.

I don’t have a preference as to the gender of the Sole Survivors (though some prompts mention a specific gender, but you’re welcome to ignore it if you like - these are just directions and ideas), and I don’t mind if they’re the default names of Nate and Nora or if they’re named something else! I think the greatest tragedy of the game was that Deacon wasn’t romanceable - he’s my favorite in the game, followed by Hancock (and then Piper and Nick and all the rest, except for Danse, I’m not a fan of Danse).

I would love to learn things about Deacon, a little more about whatever backstory you come up with for him (because there’s nothing much about his past in the game). Was Barbara real? Is he a Synth? Who knows? I also really love John Hancock because he’s just so devil-may-care, and also I’m really into ghouls and I have no idea why. I usually play a female SoSu because I love watching her become a badass and adapt quickly, and I love anything that kind of spins the original backstory on its head.

I also think Deacon and John Hancock would have some hilarious banter.

Just a couple prompts:

• I would love Dom SoSu and sub Deacon, maybe as Deacon slowly learning to trust and revealing secrets to the SoSu.
• Hancock’s Ghoul strength! Is he lifting a car off SoSu? Is he launching a Yao Guai across the Commonwealth? Or is he just using it because he knows SoSu (and/or Deacon?) are into it and he likes making ‘em all hot and bothered.
• I’m fine with intoxicated sex in this instance if it involves John Hancock (because chems are cool with me).
• Deacon and John Hancock. Maybe Hancock knows Deacon from before he was Railroad - Hancock’s pretty old, after all, even though he’s young for a ghoul. Maybe they have history where Hancock has been involved with the Railroad to help. Maybe Fahrenheit is a Synth he took in from the Railroad and that’s how he knows Deacon.
• Heck, you could have pretty much the three of them (or just two of them) waiting out a radiation storm together or fighting a deathclaw or rescuing each other from Raiders - whatever floats your boat, I’ll be pretty happy.
• A Deacon character study, maybe focusing on how much of a BAMF he is?
• A John Hancock character study, maybe about how freaked out he is to fall in love with someone like SoSu and/or Deacon?
• Okay but also a Star Trek fusion would be really cool here too, if I’m being honest. Or a pirate AU

I love Cloud Strife. I love Zack Fair. I love them together, forever and ever. Like, oh god, do I love Zack Fair. I can’t quantify how much I just love Zack Fair. I own three copies of Advent Children - the original North American release, an imported copy from Japan with the bonus scenes, and the re-release in North America with the bonus scenes. I have FFVII remake completely paid for as a pre-order and I’m so salty I can’t get Crisis Core anymore and I don’t know where my PSP is and my copy of the game, and I’m FOREVER salty that the song Gerard Way and Kyosuke Himuro did for it - “Safe and Sound” - never made it to a streaming platform and I refuse to give Youtube my money.

Just. The feelings here, okay? The what-ifs?! You got Zack following in Angeal’s footsteps and Cloud following in Zack’s, you got Sephiroth trying and failing to be human, you got Genesis and Angeal degrading into shells of their former selves. You have Aerith as the last Cetra, mourning Zack and knowing what Cloud has done by taking over Zack’s memories.

I love this world so much. I don’t have a lot of prompts here because I just love everything so much in this fandom.

• I love fics where Cloud or Zack or someone goes back in time to stop the bad things from ever happening. I like it when it’s Cloud and he gets to still be all mako-enhanced. I love it when two people go back together and they’re the only ones who lived through what happened in the other timeline.
• AU where someone saved Cloud and Zack from Hojo’s lab.
• A/B/O and pack dynamics
• Adorable modern AU with literally any of them.
• Crossovers with Kingdom Hearts
• Accidental baby acquisition would be awesome in this fandom because I’m not sure you can trust any of them with a baby (except maybe Cloud and maybe Aerith)
• Zombie apocalypse AU!
• Hurt/comfort and whump with comfort - others comforting Cloud after maybe a battle with Sephiroth
• An exploration of Zack getting Cloud out of the lab (preferably an AU where he survives too)

3.6 Kingdom Hearts

This was the first game I ever really obsessed over, and the first fandom I really, really got into. “Boys” by CaseyValhalla was a formative experience for me (and I credit that fic with saving my life in some of my darkest hours, so). I am really not a fan of Kingdom Hearts 3, and would love if you avoided a lot of what happened in it - it didn’t feel like the first two games at all, and I was pretty disappointed because it just all felt so rushed. So I live in a world where it never happened.

My favorite thing to see in Kingdom Hearts is people remembering just how much of a badass Sora actually is. Yeah, he’s a cinnamon roll, but he’s been through so much and accomplished a ton. Riku has too. I like Kairi, and I love to see her being a good friend to Riku and Sora. Roxas is my baby, I adore him so much and I just want everything good for him (and also Axel).

As for Cloud, Leon, Sephiroth, and Zack in Kingdom Hearts, I really enjoy explorations of their backstory and how it could actually mingle with the games they’re from. I love the idea of Cloud and Leon together, I love the idea of Cloud and Zack finding each other again (and then throwing Leon into the mix). So here are just some various prompts, and if you like ‘em great, but write what you like:

• A Kingdom Hearts fic where Cloud and Leon adopt KH!Denzel and shenanigans and adorable parenting moments ensue
• A Leon/Cloud/Zack sandwich with Leon in the middle, trying to keep up with Zack and Cloud’s SOLDIER enhanced stamina
• A/B/O with any of them - I love the idea of Alpha Cloud and Leon (and maybe Riku) with Omega Sora
• Cloud trying to protect Leon from Sephiroth and just getting them both into the mess
• Cloud and Zack finding each other in Hollow Bastion after losing each other so long ago
• Axel and Roxas as college roommates who have a lot of hate!sex (and secretly like each other)

3.7 Marvel Cinematic Universe

Alright, so. I still live in a world where the Avengers all live happily together in Avengers Tower and fight like a supervillain of the week, or something. I wasn’t a fan of Age of Ultron, I don’t like Clint’s family as they presented it (but I kind of like the farm), and I’m certainly not a fan of Infinity War or Endgame. I very much cookie-cutter this canon! THAT SAID, I am perfectly fine with canon divergence anywhere along the line of canon, I’m fine with fics being set anywhere at all, from pre-canon completely to after Endgame. I’m good with it!

I do tend to lean toward Matt Fraction’s Clint Barton rather than the MCU’s, but that’s not a big deal either - I’m good with either one.

Clint Barton is one of my favorite characters ever, as is Darcy Lewis. I love Bucky so much, and I love Peter Parker and I love Sam and I love Loki. I just love them all.

• A canon divergence where Clint still has the farm (but no family), and Bucky ends up there while he’s still more Winter Soldier than Bucky Barnes. He and Natasha have history, Natasha is romantically involved with Clint, and they all fall into it together as Bucky becomes Bucky again.
• Hurt/Comfort with Coulson coming back after Clint thinks he’s dead.
• Clint/Coulson pre-canon with rebellious, criminal Clint
• Darcy Lewis somehow ends up on Sakaar at the same time as Loki, who recognizes her and finds himself compelled to protect her from the Grandmaster
• Sam and Bucky and Peter out fighting crime and bantering
• Peter gets taken by HYDRA (for AU reasons or Spider reasons or whatever) when Bucky is still the Winter Soldier and they form an unlikely friendship. Or Bucky remembers that HYDRA has Peter after his memories start to come back, and goes back for him.
• AU where Nat never came to SHIELD and is the Winter Soldier’s partner - they somehow snag themselves a Clint. (Hawkeye Clint? Ronin Clint?)

3.8 Star Trek: AOS

I love and relate very heavily to Jim Kirk in the Alternate Original Series. I love how they changed his backstory and he still remained Jim Kirk (albeit younger and a little more hot-headed, with a boatload of issues). I love how they all still found each other because it was meant to be. I love his chemistry with literally everyone - Jim Kirk is literally my definition of a trust kink. I love to see him interact with Nyota as a friend (or lover, if Spock is there), and I love to see him interact with Christopher Pike as a father figure (I also love the idea that Jim Kirk is actually Chris Pike’s because of his eyes, but hey). I love fics exploring people finding out about Jim’s abusive stepfather, or his time on Tarsus IV, or what he saw in the meld with Spock Prime, or what happened for those moments when he was dead after Khan.

That said, I also really enjoy Mirror Universe in Star Trek too, no matter how you swing it. Jim Kirk as a ruthless, cold-eyed sociopathic Captain with a pet Bones or Bones as a steady-handed surgeon/interrogator with a pet Kirk. Nyota in the Mirror Universe is always a pleasure, as is Spock (though I admit I tend to lean more towards Jim and Bones here).

• I love crossovers with Doom, where Bones and Reaper are the same person and Reaper’s just immortal-ish.
• I’d also really like to see a crossover where Bones was actually Butcher (and maybe Butcher actually had powers and is immortal, idk!) from The Boys.
• A platonic fic with Jim and Nyota working together to get Spock back from space pirates or hostile planet or something. (Could also be non-platonic! Or Mirror Verse, too)
• Jim and Pike father-figure and son feelings
• Spock, Nyota, and Jim end up stranded on an away mission for a relatively long amount of time and something develops between all three of them (I see this with established Spock/Nyota and Jim coming in, but whatever works for you if you like this one!)
• Bones and Spock going to get Jim out of some hot water and the gen-friendship feels there
• Literally anything hurt/comfort involving Jim being loved and cared for - self-esteem, PTSD, whump, self-sacrificing tendencies, grief over Pike or after Beyond, whatever. Anything.

3.9 Stranger Things

Okay, Stranger Things has been my obsession for the past two months and I am living my best life. I love season 3 fix-it fics, I love canon divergence fics where Billy learns about the Upside Down and joins the fight, I love complete AUs set in 2019 or 1888 or where Billy is a vampire or Steve is a human experiment - literally anything involving these two and I’m into it.

Though there’s not a lot about it right now, I love Billy and Steve with Hop, too. I love anti-authority Billy and desperate-for-approval Steve with authority-figure Hopper, and I like the angst that can come from the age difference here.

I do tend to put Steve on the bottom a lot of the time in smut here, but I also like Billy on the bottom, so if you look at my ao3 bookmarks don’t be alarmed by the overwhelming amount of Steve on the bottom!

I like borderline-horror here - maybe just a little bit off, like canon-typical. Or give me sweet saccharine fluff, or filthy smut, I’m good with all of it.

• Wild West Outlaw Billy Hargrove and saloon owner or fresh to the west Steve (maybe also Lone Ranger Hopper)
• Apocalypse AU (character death here would be okay for side characters, as long as Steve and Billy survive, and Hopper if you’ve got him in there) - maybe they end up road tripping to get Max to California to her father, and save a couple of the other kids as well.
• Undernegotiated kink that they’re both into - especially daddy kink or verbal humiliation
• Surprise! One’s an Omega and they’ve gone into heat.
• Steve and Billy end up in the Upside Down together

I love Supernatural so much I have a tattoo on my back about it. That said, I’ve only watched a few episodes past the first part of Season 6 - I love seasons 1-5, but couldn’t get over the way the mood of the show shifted so much in season 6. I love certain parts, I know everything that happens, and please feel free to incorporate any aspects of the later seasons you want! I’ll probably even mention a few things, I just usually lean toward the first few seasons.

Dean Winchester is my love here. His music, the Impala, what he’s given up for the hunt and for Sam, what he’s done that he has to live with. I love him with Castiel, especially in Season 4-5 when Cas is still more “I was the one who gripped you tight” than human. I also love his incredibly co-dependent relationship with Sam, whether it be brotherly or not. (Listen, I’ve been in fandom a long time, and if you can survive what Supernatural fandom gives you, nothing else in fandom will ever shock you). He’s very “us against the world,” whether it be with Cas or with Sam or with both.

• Dean hearing that people love him and care about him and all the good things about him, whether that’s in fluff or a filthy fic with praise kink, or something in between
• Soulmate AU where Dean’s are wings across his shoulder blades
• Time travel - Sam or Dean makes a wish that changes everything, but they all still end up together
